Japanese Traditions are Being Carried on by Japanese Americans in San Jose

Updated: Oct 17, 2019

While kindly consenting to speak with me, my first interviewee asked to me not to publish her name on my blog, so it’s not here. Here’s a summary of our talk translated from Japanese.

I am impressed with the spring, summer, and fall festivals that are held by the Japanese-Americans in San Jose. I sometimes feel that Japanese Americans value Japanese traditions more than those of us from Japan. I have noticed that Japanese American may be more serious about preserving Japanese culture, especially making Japanese food.
